Our Approach

"Good food doesn't need much. Just the right ingredients, and the patience to let them speak for themselves."

Larder opened in 2018 with a simple premise: cook what's in season, work with producers who care, and let the food be the point. The menu changes as the growing season does — not for the sake of novelty, but because an ingredient at its peak doesn't need to be improved upon.

Our kitchen sources from a small network of farms within 150 miles of Charlotte. We've worked with most of them for years. When the same ingredients come in week after week, you learn what they're capable of. That consistency is what makes the cooking honest.

The dining room is designed to stay out of the way. Low light, unhurried service, and a wine list built around small producers who work the same way we do. Come in for a Tuesday dinner or a special occasion — we treat both the same.

Our private dining room seats up to 24 guests and is available for business dinners, celebrations, and rehearsal dinners. We work with you to build a menu that fits the occasion — set price or à la carte, wine pairings included if you'd like.

The room is separate from the main dining area, with its own entrance available on request. No room fee for groups of 12 or more with a set menu.

Trained in Lyon, worked in New York for eight years before returning to the South. Opened Larder in 2018 to cook the kind of food he actually wants to eat — seasonal, honest, and not trying too hard.

We do our best to accommodate walk-ins, particularly early in the week and earlier in the evening. Friday and Saturday evenings book out well in advance. If you're hoping to walk in on a weekend, call ahead and we'll let you know honestly whether we can seat you.
For a weeknight, a few days ahead is usually fine. For Friday or Saturday, we'd recommend at least a week in advance. For special occasions or larger parties, two to three weeks gives us the most flexibility.
Yes — please call ahead and let us know. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and most common allergies with advance notice. The kitchen is small, so the more lead time we have, the better we can prepare.
Smart casual. Most guests come in business casual or better. We want you to feel comfortable — we leave it to your judgment.
Yes — a five-course tasting menu is available Friday and Saturday evenings for the full table. Call ahead to confirm availability and pricing. Wine pairing can be arranged with advance notice.
We're in Uptown Charlotte, with several parking decks within a short walk. The Overstreet Mall deck on South Tryon is the most convenient. Street parking is available on weekends and we're easy to reach by rideshare.
